Let’s talk about law for a moment……
I am continually amazed by the hypocrisy of man when it comes to laws. For instance, I have often listened to people condemning others for breaking men’s laws regardless of how unjust and downright ridiculous some of those laws are while at the same time not even batting an eye while breaking God’s laws. They simpley state, "well its the law and they should have known better."
Have we been engineered from a social standpoint with such effectiveness that we cannot see anything at all anymore? Just consider some of these man made laws for a moment:
A 18 year old man in the United States may be sent off to war to fight and die for his country, yet if that same man were to sit down with his father to have a glass of beer or a shot of brandy before going off to that war, he may be cited for a minor consumption charge and his father cited for contributing to a minor.
In many cities today, if a 7 year old girl and her 6 year old friend set up a lemonade stand at the end of her driveway it is now quite probable that they will be cited for this horrible atrocity if they do not first “purchase” a permit from the city.
If you as a parent spank a child today for any reason, the state may take your child away from you and have you arrested for child abuse.
If a woman is dying of cancer and smokes a marijuana cigarette which has been clinically proven as the most effective herb on the planet for controlling the awful effects of chemo-therapy (uncontrolled vomiting, horrible nausea and ruthless headaches) she is considered a criminal by the “state” and will likely be arrested, prosecuted, fined and possibly imprisoned.
In most states it is now illegal for grocery stores to take their “dated” produce or any other food items that have reached or passed the “sell by date” to a homeless shelter or a mission so that they may feed the hungry. Indeed, now they must throw it into the garbage dumpsters forcing the hungry to climb in after it in order to avoid steep fines and heavy penalties!
I could go on and on with these atrocious laws but I think you get the point. We as a people have allowed those in power to do pretty much at will anything they wish with respect to imposing trivial, invasive and downright cruel laws on its own citizens. But why do we need all of these ridiculous laws and what do they really accomplish? The answer is quite simple actually and can be summed up in two words; “control” and “revenue” for both of these are the real product of men’s laws.
You see, God has already provided us with the minimum set of laws we need to live by if we wish to prosper in this world yet for over 6 thousand years man has deemed it necessary to add to these laws which has opened the door to corruption and our inevitable destruction.
It all started in the Garden of Eden when Adam was given one simple commandment from God that he not eat from the tree in the middle of the garden, the tree of knowledge. Yet Adam wasted little time in overstepping the commandment by adding his own to it as we learned from Eve when she recited what Adam told her to the serpent: “God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it; neither shall ye touch it lest ye die”. So this “touching” of the fruit was an additional law that Adam imposed on Eve which opened the door to a cunning Satan to use as a way to exploit God’s law on Adam. The moment he was able to demonstrate to Eve that she would not die after touching it, convincing her to eat of the fruit was mere child’s play!
Since that time lawmakers have taken these additional laws to an unprecedented level but not with our best interests in mind. The lawmakers have in effect become our “gods” for they are the ones who are not only making the commandments but enforcing those commandments with their own “Levitical” requirements of punishment. These are the ones who “Lord it over us” that God sternly warned us about in 2 Kings 17:
37 And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
38 And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
He is telling us that we must abide by His laws “forever” and not turn aside from them because a few men have taken it upon themselves to usurp those laws in favor of their own. He further tells us not fear these “other gods” who are self appointed but to fear Him alone for His is the only true justice.
It is up to us to determine whether the powers who are lording it over us are appointed by God or whether they are “self appointed” by their works. If their works are not according to God’s laws they are not of God and are self appointed making themselves gods just as Satan did.
If you are wondering where this is all leading, the point I would like to make is that before any of us condemns another for breaking one of mans laws (but not God’s laws), I would ask that before you accuse them that you carefully consider these things for the stone that you are about to throw may actually come back and strike you!
It is not a secret that our worldly governments have become absolute “behemoths” in their scope and power because of all of the “laws” that they have imposed on people for not only does it take mountains of bureaucracy to manage and enforce them but an unending and escalating stream of revenue to support their existence. Their tentacles of intrusion have infiltrated every aspect of our daily lives and have reached a point of total control at every level of government and psyche. We are now all held in bondage to their control and whatever punishment they deem appropriate whether justified in Gods eyes or not.
But even our governments are directed and controlled by a small handful of men who control the purse strings through a system of “mammon” (money) created in their image to be worshipped by those under their control. These men were described to us in the Book of Enoch as “giants” or men of “great stature” who “devoured all which the labor of men produced; until it became impossible to feed them”. These were not literal giants (whose stature is described as “being 300 cubits”) because there certainly would be some anthropological evidence of this for even the smallest measure of a cubit would mean that these men were 450 feet tall! And in Matthew 6 we are asked:
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
“Stature” here has noting to do with adding a measure of height to men but has to do with adding a measure of time or lifespan to men!
No, these were giants of “industry” because of the knowledge that they possessed, the knowledge given to them by the fallen angels before the flood of Noah’s day. Men of such stature today also have such knowledge and keep it hidden from the rest of us so that they may exploit and control us while playing god over us.
In the case of the “giants” that Enoch spoke of, the 300 cubits of “stature” meant that they would only have 300 years to live before the flood by water would sweep them all away which may also be indicative of what will happen to the men of “great stature” today when they too will be swept away by a flood of fire which has been stored up for the time of the end (will have to research that)!
So again back to my main point, before we condemn another for disregarding one of the myriad of commandments or “laws” of man, it would behoove us to consider these things in order that our own hypocrisy does not rise to the surface and condemn us in front of our Father who is in heaven while we continually break His own Commandments.
If everyone would just follow the commandments that Jesus prescribed for us to love God with all our heart, mind and soul and to love our neighbor as we would ourselves we would have no need for any other laws.
Blessings,
Bill
